Reggae singer Kenta the WAVE’s debut single, “Wave Song.” This track takes you to the beach, where the gentle, rolling acoustic guitar sets the stage for sparkling slide guitar sounds that glisten like sunlight on the water’s surface, creating a sensation of drifting on the waves. With a simple and heartfelt vocal delivery, the lyrics are refreshing, inviting listeners to the sea and on a journey.

This song was lovingly recorded in the home studio of Jaco’s Hat Records, based in Minoh, Osaka, as a raw and authentic take. The musical sensibility of Shotaro Miyamoto (nayuta), who plays bass and guitar, shines through.

We also received a comment from Billy Mystic, the lead singer of Jamaica’s legendary reggae band Mystic Revealers and a legend in the Jamaican surf scene!

レゲエシンガー、Kenta the WAVE の一作目となる「波の唄」。ゆったりとしたうねりのあるアコースティックギターの上で、透き通る様なサウンドのスライドギターがキラキラと反射する、まるで波の上を漂っている様な感覚にさせてくれる海辺のナンバー。シンプルに素直な思いを落とし込んだ歌声、歌詞は清々しく、聴く者を海へ、そして旅へと誘う。

大阪・箕面から世界に向けてグッドミュージックを発信し続ける、Jaco’s Hat Recordsのホームアトリエで、生まれたままのテイクを大切にレコーディングされた楽曲。ベースやギターをプレイした宮本章太郎 (nayuta) のセンスも光る。

Kenta the WAVE Japan

大阪生まれ。レゲエシンガー。

幼少の頃から両親の影響でフォークやレゲエを聴いて育ち、ギターを弾き始める。中学からはバンドを始め、10代後半にはサーフィンと出会い、音楽と波に誘われて国内外を旅する生活に。

2016年移住先の宮崎でレゲエバンドBlazing fahyahを結成。地元のラジオ局に出演するなどリスナーから熱い支持を得る。

2019年生まれ育った箕面の街に戻り、バンド猿山ロッカーズと、ソロでの活動を始める。2023年秋同じく箕面をベースに世界に向けて音楽を発信するJaco’s Hat Records よりシングル「波の唄」をリリース。 ... more
